1. Mutual valuing Both partners value themselves and the other's contribution to their lives. We each supply and are valuable--we are crucial to each other.
2. Mutual responsibility for the growth of the mate. At times one is stronger than the other and must allow the other to lean on him or her for emotional strength and spiritual direction.
3. Mutual serving and being served. It is an expression of care for that other person and wanting the best for that one's life.
4. Mutual forgiveness. Forgiveness means that I relinquish punishment and correction to God. I will not longer hold my mate accountable for something that happened in the past, but I will turn him loose from that bondage.
